WHAT IS READ TO SUCCEED?

Read to Succeed places volunteers in K–5 classrooms across Tippecanoe County to help students build critical reading skills and develop a love for learning. Volunteers are matched with a local teacher and spend one hour a week during the school day working with students on reading skills and building confidence.

GET INVOLVED!

Getting involved with Read to Succeed is easy and flexible. Volunteers can explore available classroom opportunities, sign up for the placement that works best for them, and connect with their teacher to set a weekly schedule.

As part of the process, volunteers complete a limited background check, which is standard for working in classrooms. United Way staff are available to support volunteers at every step.

“Seeing a student gain confidence in their reading over the year is incredibly rewarding. That one hour a week really makes a difference.”
