Community Impact Intern

Support the programmatic efforts of our organization through an internship working with Kindergarten Countdown Camp, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, or Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA). Be a part of community collaborations working to address some of the most critical needs in our community.

VITA Assistant Site Coordinator 

30-40 hrs/wk, Mid-January – Mid-April 

  • Train and certify in tax preparation for VITA-eligible taxpayers 
  • Be present in the VITA site during operating hours to support volunteers, program manager 
  • Support volunteers in accurate tax preparation by answering questions or quality reviewing work 
  • Support clients in completing intake paperwork 
  • Support program manager by covering preparation vacancies as needed, supporting in client outreach as needed

VITA Client Outreach Specialist 

15-30 hrs/wk, Mid-January – Mid-April 

  • Train and certify in tax preparation for VITA-eligible taxpayers 
  • Support clients in scheduling appointments via Google Voice 
  • Support clients submitting tax information virtually with status updates, requests for more information, etc.
  • Support in-person clients in completing intake paperwork
  • Support program manager by covering preparation vacancies and preparing virtually submitted returns as needed

VITA Virtual Submissions Specialist 

15-30 hrs/wk, Mid-January – Mid-April 

  • Train and certify in tax preparation for VITA-eligible taxpayers, including international students 
  • Manage the incorporation of virtually submitted client intake packets to the dropoff cue  
  • Coordinate with Client Outreach Specialist to ensure clients are notified of any additional information require to complete their return and notify clients for return pickup 
  • Prepare all international student returns and submitting to program manager for quality review 
  • Support program manager by covering preparation vacancies as necessary and ensuring timely client contact as needed
