Community Commitment to Education

What is Community Commitment to Education?

Community Commitment to Education is a collective impact committee led by United Way of Greater Lafayette, Greater Lafayette Commerce, and our three local school corporations to address third grade reading achievement. In 2011, this group launched Read to Succeed in our local schools, and during the fall of 2014, they piloted bornlearning Academy. This program was started to immerse families in their local schools and teach them how to become their children's first and best teachers.

More than 70 local businesses and non-profit organizations support Community Commitment to  Education by providing volunteers for Read to Succeed, pledging to adopt education friendly business practices, or making a financial contribution to support program efforts.
