Healthy Active Tippecanoe emerged out of the community-wide Vision 2020 initiative and includes representatives from a diverse cross section of community groups and concerned residents from Tippecanoe County. As a leader in community change, Healthy Active Tippecanoe is all inclusive, inviting and supports community-based collaboration. Healthy Active Tippecanoe is focused on making our community a better place to live, work and play.
Healthy Active Tippecanoe will foster healthy lifestyle options to reduce health risk factors, improve overall well-being, and maintain a productive, active community through collaboration, sharing of resources and sustainable partnerships.
By 2020, Tippecanoe County will be recognized as a community of choice for healthy lifestyles and improved quality of life throughout the life span.
Recently Healthy Active Tippecanoe developed an initiative called Eat Better, Move More!
Eat Better, Move More! has adopted the community vision that "All children in Tippecanoe County will be physically fit through healthy eating and regular physical activity." Eat Better, Move More! aims to improve access to physical activities and healthy meals, and promote healthy behaviors.
Many Children in our community are in a path to a long term consequences related to obesity, such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Obese youth are more likely to have high cholesterol and high blood pressure which are risk factors. We need you to join us in helping all Tippecanoe children to be physically fit.
